Today I am heading to Beijing, China.
I have no idea what the internetting will be like from there.
I am bringing with me my one word of Mandarin: “Nee-how!” That is “Hello!” I will be able to greet people in China. Fortunately, my younger brother lives in Beijing, and he speaks Mandarin, and I am staying with him and his two giant white fluffy cats, Big Kitty and Little Kitty. The felines and I have met on many Zooms.
In China I shall have a personal translator and will be living at a cat cafe.
My brother has two pianos in his apartment in Beijing. My brother’s lucky neighbors will soon be treated to exciting piano and ukulele duets.
So far my plans for Beijing are: slurp some long New Year’s noodles in a noodle restaurant; sing some karaoke.
It will still be the Lunar New Year celebrations when I arrive in China. The festivities continue.
